welcome Pictures, Images and Photos

Welcome Fall....

The season of glorious colors, chilly breezes and warm fires...Its that time of year when those busy days of summer are coming to an end and we start to slow the pace and prepare for the coming winter. Its time for football games and bonfires, Apple Cider and pumpkin pie....time to bundle up in your favorite sweater and head to the local farmers market to find that perfect pumpkin.

The air seems clearer..crisper and the days grow shorter while  piles of leaves in countless yards just wait to be jumped in by rosy cheeked children.  The smell of apple cider and pumpkin spice scents the air and thoughts start wandering to Halloween parties and thanksgiving dinners. Hot chocolate by a cozy fire on a crisp fall night..

Hayrides and haunted trails,

and late night strolls under a harvest moon

With a little imagination, some hot glue, silk fall flowers and leaves and an old witches hat..you can create a magical fall decoration....

Autumn Days

Pumpkin pies
cooling on a kitchen window sill...
The summer air now holds
a brisk autumn chill.

Leaves turn to colors
of red, orange and gold,
painting the mountains
with beauty untold.

Chill fall nights
by warm glowing fires
sipping on cider
while passing the hours...

Long slow walks
thru leaf covered lanes,
admiring the beauty
that the season brings.

 September fires light the mountain
in colors of red and gold
burning away the summer green
to make way for Winters Cold

Leaves of ember drift to the valley
like confetti from a burning sky
sprinkle the landscape with wondrous color
as the harvest moon fly's high.

Debbie Jones/2013

"The one red leaf, the last of its clan, That dances as often as dance it can, Hanging so light, and hanging so high, On the topmost twig that looks up at the sky."
-Samuel Taylor Coleridge
